The Digital Government Summit brings together people involved in digital transformation across the public sector, to gain insight into the latest thinking and innovations driving government strategy. Alongside myself, speakers will include representatives from the Cabinet Office’s Government Innovation Group, the Crown Commercial Service and Government Innovation at Nesta.
I’ll be talking about our work with Public Health England (PHE) to create the new kite-marking process for health apps. The project uses rapid prototyping to put technology at the centre of the innovation process, rather than simply being the output.
IE GDS and PHE used Alpha-prototypes to quickly test out the endorsement process with audiences including app developers, clinicians and patients. PHE were able to demo the prototype at conferences and seek input from across a range of stakeholders. Far from being a waste of time and money, a quick, disposable prototype can prove a real investment towards an eventual product that's robust and effective.
As a sponsor of the summit, IE GDS will be there all day and we’re looking forward to meeting delegates to talk about the digital challenges they’re wrestling with.
The event takes place on Thursday 30th November 2016 at the Manchester Conference Centre. Read more or sign up to the event here.
